I paid $10.00 this morning for 2 coffee's and 2 bagels with cream cheese. I felt as though I had been robbed and the worst part is the menu was not up reflecting the new prices. I couldn't believe it and I actually had the girl ring it up again. I have been going to this coffee shop for a couple of years and they just raised the price of bagels with cream cheese by over a $1.00 a piece and the price of a coffee went up by .50 a cup. This place was not cheap to begin with. Let me guess the cost of gas has caused this increase... I called the owner and told him to at least put the menu back up with the new prices so people know just how much they will be paying.

I'm not sure about the coffee hike, but flour has doubled this year so any baked good has gotten a little crazy. Obviously, they should post prices! But I think the flour is what got you.

Here's my "it costs WHAT?" story.

My 4 year old wants to go play mini golf at a ratty golf place up the street because it has a (not-so-nice/it's seen better days) pirate ship on the last hole. I have been telling him since the fall that he won't be able to play there because there was a "land for lease" sign on the property and it probably wouldn't be open in the spring. Well, it's open and I went to see how much they want for a round of mini golf. It's $7.50 for adults and $6.00 for kids under 11. SO, if we were to take the three kids (all under 6) it would cost us $33.00. If we took them for ice cream afterwards, the whole thing would run $50.00.

Some things are getting to be ridiculous. You were nice about it. I would have politely said that the price you were charged is not the same as what is advertised in the menu to the person at the cash register. That's expensive coffee and bagels.
Bagels at Aldi's are pretty good and a heck of alot cheaper.

My Coffees Have Cost the same. - thankfully.

I am sticking to the sale bagels Every week - this week My store had a pepperidge Farm 6 pk. for 2.49
Add A Box of Philly cream cheese for 99 cents , and its Way cheaper than at the coffee shop

Been to Red Lobster lately? We told management in a focus group that they just plain raised their prices way too ridiculously high. There's raising prices to cover higher costs, and then there's gouging.

I usually just have coffee and toast or bagels at home. DH and I were out for a walk with our baby and we figured we would treat ourselves. Next time we will just bring our travel mugs filled with coffee from home. I agree with the statement about some prices are just plain gouging.

I would be giving up my bagels out and get them at home.

- yikes! I noticed a lot of the "flour" products have gone up a lot recently (like buying a box of brownies for the icnic yesterday- it was over $2 for the generic brand!). I would go for the Aldi's bagels next time!

thats way high! we now take a cooler in the car with our own beverages and snacks so when we are out there is no buying them and getting "robbed" its kind of a hassle but i have it down to a science and this weekend we saved tons of money since we had our own...

you would still be better off buying a nice coffee and making at home with a bagel and cream cheese.
