I haven't bought any new summer clothes, but I plan on trying to go to a thrift store like Goodwill soon and just get a couple of shorts/shirts. My ds was given a huge box of summer clothes from my cousin whose son has outgrown them. That was a huge blessing for us.

I've hving to buy some stuff, because what I have doesn't fit well at all, but luckily I hit so many yard sales before I had the baby, and found some great year end clearance, that he doenst need much this summer.

I've come to realise that I have enough clothes already. I could avoid doing a wash for a month! So yes, I'm trying to cut back!

We have definately spent less on clothing this year. Since we are mostly at the beach during the summer - it was easy! 2 swimsuits!!! DD got a few new t-shirts from the Target $3 sale, but that is about all... She hasn't grown that much in the past year, so I figured that I better wait until she goes through a growth period before I really get anything!

I bought myself some new tops on clearance at Kohls and sears. And I will need new tennis shoes--mine are well over 5 yrs old and showing it! I spent a grand total of $15 on DS for summer clothes at a garage sale and the consignment shop. DH needed new Khakis for work, so he got those and a couple clearance shirts for the fall. We're probably spending about the same as we usually do.

I always buy for my girls ahead of time so they have most everything they will need for summer except for sandals. My oldest DD will need shorts and capris because for the last few years she only wore jeans during the summer. Unfortunately she's in a residential treatment program and they spend alot of time outdoors so I'll have to hitthe consignment stores and rummage sales to see what I can find. DH is fine for clothes and I just need tops for work and play because of my breast reduction last fall. I'll just make due with what little I have and buy as I find inexpensive tops. We really don;t have the money for new clothes so we'll just mostly make do with what we have.

Absolutely! I definitely buy fewer clothes for the children now than I used to a few years ago. This summer each one will get by with just 5-6 casual outfits, 3-4 bathing suits, and 3-4 "church outfits". I do laundry often enough that they don't need more than this. Plus it takes up less space in their closets/dressers. It helps that children are at ages where they really don't care about fasion at all, just about comfort...

In addition, in an effort to be more mindful or spending as well as to live more simply, I've also started to have my children wear things more than once, especially jeans, denim shorts, or their church clothes that they only wore for a few hours. They wear their PJs for 2-3 nights in a row, instead of throwing it in the hamper every night like they used to.

I bought almost all clothing for this summer at the end of the season last summer, so we were pretty well set. I did pick up two pairs of shorts and a skirt for DD, however, because I couldn't find enough "bottoms" for her last year. I am not 100% sure about fall stuff, though. I picked up a good number of things, but both kids will need bottoms for sure.

I am not sure I never really bought too many. I always get a minimum of 10 oufits and my max will be 14. I am questionning myself if wehter or not I should continue to buy clothes for next summer since stores have pretty good sales right now. I already started.

I definately bought less this year than last, but I still spent way too much. I have a clothing budget of $150 per month for our family. I went over the budget but only because I needed more clothing because I cannot seem to get with the program and LOOSE weight. I needed summer stuff that fit me.
