This was so irritating! I had an online coupon for M-O-M cereal, which RiteAid was having on sale this week. It would have made the box cost $1. But they said it was against company policy to take any online coupons that weren't specifically RiteAid ones!! Grrr!!!!! I am going to call and complain, and ask them for some kind of compensation for that inconvenience and thoughtlessness on their part to not post signs that say they will not take them.

that is irritating. Many of the stores near me will not accept internet coupons. I even called ahead of time once they said they did but after I had my cart full and went to the register, they said they didn't. GRRR.

you really should check with all the stores you shop at regularly...there aren't any near me that accept them. It's a store by store policy. But yeah, I agree, really aggravating, especially after you do all your shopping.

None of the stores near me take on line coupons anymore either due to the increase in fraud. Apparently there was someone making coupons that looked genuine for free this and that and the stores were giving it away only to have the coupons rejected by the mfr when they sent them in for reimbursement.

That is NOT fair. Most of the reputable sites have a verfication on them when you print them out for stores to verify they are indeed legit. We need to put more pressure on these stores because more and more sites are offering printable coupons. Including Mommysavers.

What a bummer! I was about to head to RA today and use some of my coupons that I'd printed from one of the online coupon services. I'm glad I read your post!
What I don't get is, yes you can Photoshop something and make it "say" what you want it to ("free", "bogof"), but how would someone tweek the bar code? I just used an online coupon at Kroger yesterday. It wouldn't have scanned properly if it was a fradulent coupon, would it? I guess what I'm saying is that when the clerk scanned a fradulent coupon, it would be evident right away. I don't see how someone could make a fradulent bar code that would be read by RA's scanner.

maybe the frauds where made by someone that make real ones and then got passed around. I'm great in photo shop but i have no clue how bar codes work.
