Was wondering how people fill up their tanks? I usually wait until I am just about empty to fill up, though just this week our gas prices dropped in town because we had a new gas station open up. So I filled up Wed and Thurs because with my job I drive a lot and figured I'd fill up at half a tank to get the cheap prices. Though now that I have reviewed my spending for the last week I think I actually spent more based on my records from filling up a whole tank, even if I would have waited and the price would have spiked up when I needed gas.

When my gas tank gets on 1/4 I fill up.

Unless we are going on somewhere and I know 1/4 of a tank won't get me there and back. Then i fill up at my local station, where the prices are lower than most.

Usually I fill up (to about $50) when the tank is almost empty. I filled up today when I had over a quarter of a tank because I was in a neighboring town and gas was $3.71 (10cents cheaper than here!) and I know I will be driving alot over the weekend.

we fill up when we are either close to empty or if we know we are heading somewhere with higher gas prices and we could not make it back without filling up--we will fill up before we go. We also check gasbuddy.com for cheap prices--it helps some

I fill up on Friday, payday. And I am usually at 1/4 tank or less. But last I filled up on Wed, my mom filled my tank. And I realized, duh! It is cheaper to fill up on Wed. Actually this week I missed Wed, and it went down again on Thurdsday. So I filled up yesterday. I am going to try to keep that up.

My tank is full at all times these days. When ever I pass my local gas station I put gas in, even if it's $5. The price seems to change daily , and for the past week they have.

I just fill up whenever it gets to a quarter tank (my father's rule when we were teenagers). I don't try to outguess the prices or hope it will be cheaper next week; there's no sign of it letting up yet. Oil prices just really shot up again today, almost $140 barrel as of a few minutes ago.

We fill up when it's between 1/4-1/2 a tank. And, we try not to fill up on Fridays.

I try to only get gas on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Seems like gas always jumps a little on the weekends so I try to avoid filling up then.
