we're trying to rediscover some of our old games that we quit playing or won, and tossed in the cabinet instead of buying new games, or trading them at game stores, which really give you hardly any store credit.
"old games" to us of course are video games which the whole family likes, - we just aren't board game or card game kind of people.
So we pulled out some of the games we played a couple years ago on playstation and xbox, and re-played them. Games like Ty, Spyro, ect seemed new to us, and especially the kids. after a couple years of not playing them, they are like new games all over again.
We're working on those, trying to win them again. We're also re-playing this star wars game ( yes, us 3 girls are playing star wars! ) and instead of playing as a good guy this time, you can also -play the game as a bad guy and the game is entirely different.
The kids, on thier computer are designing websites with frontpage, ( free) and I'm paying 10 bucks a month for toontown and they share a character ( that I sometimes play at night!!!)
we're making new families and doing the legacy challenge on Sims 2. I guess these games are so indepth and engaging for us, we can't dream of playing monopoly. All of the games we're playing we already owned and we haven't bought any new ones.
It's so hot here, and this really is a very boring town we live in, there isn't anything to do around here anyway. no one goes to movies in the park when it's 110 degrees- we've got Tv's and A/c in our house. We never go to the movies anymore. IN fact, I have gift cards for movies, and no one is interested in anything that's out anyway.
We do subscribe to netflix- so not only do we get DVD's in the mail, but some shows on netflix (if you are a subscriber) are free for direct download to view- no waiting for the dvd. We are cathing up on "old" movies the kids have never seen. Ferriss bueller, Molly ringwald movies. ect.
what else have we done.. umm we swim in our own pool in our yard now instead of paying 3 bucks to swim at the rec center pool- per person. 5 bucks for adults. Ok so the pool a the rec center is fun- water slide, lazy river. Just too expensive to go all the time. I did not get a waterpark pass this year like last year.
We're not taking a vacation, we're just hanging out around the house, and we haven't cut our eating out budget much. becuase that will be the last entertainment item to be slashed if I have to . I hate to cook in the summer. I try very hard to only choose places we have a coupon for though.
