We cut a few passes due to the gas prices - more for the gas to and from than from the expense outright.

We also rent DVDs from the library more and more - I think I currently have about 20 I have requested - it takes forever to get the more popular ones and sometimes several will come at the same time - that makes for an intersting week as you only get them for a week. I think DH wants to get Netflix again but we really weren't using it much but I may agree to one of the cheaper plans. We don't go to movies anymore - one because of price and two whenever we have a babysitter there don't seem to be any good movies playing.

We are eatting out less and trying to eat healthier - we are growing a garden and that has actually been a lot of fun. Nothing like watching your tomatoes turn red (assuming this will happend soon).

We will visit some of the more local parks - they have a splash ground - it cost to get in but it is cheaper than going to the places we have passes to when you factor in the gas prices. We will still go to the Zoo and Sea World but not nearly as much. We had kind of cut down on the number of times we went even before the gas prices went way up.

We are having more people over instead of going out - thinking about doing more potlucks as well. We haven't been spending enough time with friends and are trying to correct that. We spent time and money fixing up the backyard so we might as well use it as much as possible.

We have been going through the garage and have found some things we forgot about - small tent, slip and slide, craft projects etc and will be doing those instead of going out.

Hoping to take advantage of the free movies - so far DS hasn't done well watching a whole movie but hopefully it will work and we will get out of the house and have some fun. Really hoping they aren't too crowded we have never attempted this.

we're trying to rediscover some of our old games that we quit playing or won, and tossed in the cabinet instead of buying new games, or trading them at game stores, which really give you hardly any store credit.

"old games" to us of course are video games which the whole family likes, - we just aren't board game or card game kind of people.

So we pulled out some of the games we played a couple years ago on playstation and xbox, and re-played them. Games like Ty, Spyro, ect seemed new to us, and especially the kids. after a couple years of not playing them, they are like new games all over again.

We're working on those, trying to win them again. We're also re-playing this star wars game ( yes, us 3 girls are playing star wars! ) and instead of playing as a good guy this time, you can also -play the game as a bad guy and the game is entirely different.

The kids, on thier computer are designing websites with frontpage, ( free) and I'm paying 10 bucks a month for toontown and they share a character ( that I sometimes play at night!!!)

we're making new families and doing the legacy challenge on Sims 2. I guess these games are so indepth and engaging for us, we can't dream of playing monopoly. All of the games we're playing we already owned and we haven't bought any new ones.

It's so hot here, and this really is a very boring town we live in, there isn't anything to do around here anyway. no one goes to movies in the park when it's 110 degrees- we've got Tv's and A/c in our house. We never go to the movies anymore. IN fact, I have gift cards for movies, and no one is interested in anything that's out anyway.

We do subscribe to netflix- so not only do we get DVD's in the mail, but some shows on netflix (if you are a subscriber) are free for direct download to view- no waiting for the dvd. We are cathing up on "old" movies the kids have never seen. Ferriss bueller, Molly ringwald movies. ect.

what else have we done.. umm we swim in our own pool in our yard now instead of paying 3 bucks to swim at the rec center pool- per person. 5 bucks for adults. Ok so the pool a the rec center is fun- water slide, lazy river. Just too expensive to go all the time. I did not get a waterpark pass this year like last year.

We're not taking a vacation, we're just hanging out around the house, and we haven't cut our eating out budget much. becuase that will be the last entertainment item to be slashed if I have to . I hate to cook in the summer. I try very hard to only choose places we have a coupon for though.
