What item have you recently purchased that the price shocked you?

Milk is getting crazy expensive here. Cooking oil just recently sky-rocketed. And even flour has gone up tons.

Cheese! The generic brand was $9.19 for a 520 gram (18 oz) block of cheese this week!

I can normally buy it on sale at $4.99 and the regular price was $5.99 until a few months ago and then it went up to $7.99. Now $9.19! I'm quitting cheese.

And eggs are up to $2.79 / a dozen.

Cherries!!! I guess I'll have to find a farmer's market somewhere to see if they're cheaper. (along with most fruit) The fruit prices versus the poor quality in the supermarkets by me are depressing. My family and I love fresh fruit.

Wow, I am pretty sure cheese isn't that high here. I will have to check at the store next time I go. When I bought shredded cheese last week, it was 3 for 5 on 8 oz bags.
The price of hamburger is really shocking me. It is almost never under 1.79 a pound. Most of the time is it like 2.39 I think.

Shredded Cheese Was 1.59 For Two Cups

Lunch meat , I Never Buy above 3.99 a Lb.

Milk is Actually Lower Now One Gallon of 1% is 3.61

Eggs are 1.69 , Unless they are On sale ( About every other Month ) For .99Cents
