I just got a new tank for the grill, so, now I am wondering how much money is really saved if I can cook nearly everything on the grill instead of with the stove top and oven. The tank was $20. Does anyone notice any real difference with electric bills?

Also, we have started making our own Frappuccinos, smoothies, and, Blizzards. Are there other ideas for saving money in summer cooking?

We use the grill all the time because it just tastes better -- I never thought of it as a money saver.

We have started to bake our own cookies and cakes for treats instead of pre-packaged ones!! My kids love them and they are so much better quality. Its a treat and a craft all rolled into one.

I think where the grill saves money is because you don't have to heat up the house with the oven or stove top.
