I had to go grocery shopping today because we were out of absolutely everything. Toilet paper, peanut butter, olive oil, cereal--all the basics. Well, I ended up doing a lot of spaving... almost $40 over my budget in order to get better unit prices and such. I don't feel that bad about it because I didn't really splurge on anything (well, except I bought organic yogurt which I NEVER do but since I became pregnant the fake flavors in regular yogurt turn my stomach...), just stocked up on what were pretty good deals.

Well, of course I had to admit my spaving to DH when he got home. I pointed to the 24-pack of t.p. and the big jar of relish and explained how I went over my budget to save money in the long run, etc etc. He is fine with it and laughed and said "Where's the beer? Spave me some beer!" That cracked me up!

A few minutes later while we were eating dinner together, I was telling him how I got a gallon of milk for free with a coupon deal and he said, "Wow it really turns me on when you talk like that... can you say 'spaving' in a sexy voice? I don't know what's better, that or the thought of you rolling around in coupons!" Baaahahahahaaa.... So great that he is so supportive of my grocery store adventures!!

I had never even heard the word 'spaving'! I thought you kept spelling saving wrong until I looked it up!

It is great that he is so supportive--maybe next time you can spave him a little beer
