Maybe our credit was never that high or our income -- either way, I have never received a credit card offer that was that high. Can you imagine what damage my family could do to ourselves with a credit card limit that high?

Yikes!

Oh my.... I say shred that puppy too!!!

We haven't gotten a credit card offer for that high, but have gotten auto loan pre-approvals from our credit union for $50,000.

You should see DH's mouth water when we get those.... Ummm..... NO WAY!!!

DH has a credit card that is constantly sending him letters that he's pre-approved for loans $30,000 and up. We just tear them up and throw them away. Not falling for it!

Don't you just love how they try to temp you into debt?

Yeah, don't you love those. We could buy a house on a credit card if we wanted. Thankfully, we have never wanted.

That's scary! The sad part is you know someone somewhere is going to take advantage.

I have a credit cards that I applied for in my name alone without DH to consolidate all our other credit cards to beacuse they had an 18 month zero percent interest period. I was approved for $35,000 and they uped the limit to $40,000!! I have NEVER been close to the limit so I do not know why they keep increasing the limit. In fact other than the intial transfer I have never used the card and have almost paid it off in full.

I think that if you need to run up $50K in credit card debt there are some serious issues.

I am working with a client right now who has over $100,000 in credit card debt -- most of which was incurred trying to get a business up and running.
