Absolutely. I'm a piano teacher, and our closest music store went out of business. I used to just run out and buy a book when I needed it. No more. Now I have to travel 50 miles round-trip just to buy a book, 60 miles to get to a really nice store. Not going to happen. I can get a 10% discount, and free media mail shipping online for all purchases over $25. The kids will just have to wait a little longer for their new books, but that's a small price to pay to save a lot of money on gas.
The local music stores are really hurting due to internet sales and the price of gas. The ones that did not embrace the internet, went out of business. One got bought out by a chain, then they closed them.
Anything further than 10 miles from my home no longer gets my business. I'll buy online before I'll drive.
