Absolutely. I'm a piano teacher, and our closest music store went out of business. I used to just run out and buy a book when I needed it. No more. Now I have to travel 50 miles round-trip just to buy a book, 60 miles to get to a really nice store. Not going to happen. I can get a 10% discount, and free media mail shipping online for all purchases over $25. The kids will just have to wait a little longer for their new books, but that's a small price to pay to save a lot of money on gas.

The local music stores are really hurting due to internet sales and the price of gas. The ones that did not embrace the internet, went out of business. One got bought out by a chain, then they closed them.

Anything further than 10 miles from my home no longer gets my business. I'll buy online before I'll drive.

i do buy online frequently its cheaper than driving all over to different stores since i live a good half hour from the nearest shopping like oldnavy the mall ect... plus now i can shop oldnavy and gap sales and get combined flat shipping of $7 bucks for my order from both stores so thats nice. plus i do alot more research online before we buy anything helps with not having to return bigger items if we purchase.

Absolutely! But I was doing it anyway because it is so convenient and I can find awesome deals you won't find in a store.

Yep. It's 30mins just to wal mart, the closest real shopping is 45mins away. That's a lot of gas.

Defineately but I am not buying very much in the way of extras these days.

I used to hate paying for shipping now $5 doesn't seem so bad because it would cost more than that in gas to get an item. I usually only shop at places that have free shipping though or wait for a really good sale and stock up - just bought some yarn today for Christmas presents and a baby shower gift - by adding a little more to the total I got free shipping and it was something that I couldn't just run to the store and get and even if I did it wouldn't have been on sale so I saved some $$ right there.

I don't but that is because most everything is 2 to 3 miles from me. The mall and the speciality stores are 15 minutes up the road.

I really miss the country!!

Yes and no- if that makes sense at all! For the most part we have a ton of stores within a 15 minute drive although I have started doing shopping for Christmas (kind of worried about how much everything will cost around Christmas time) and I drove 50 miles round trip to get a Christmas present for my youngest (it was 3 American Girl dolls with 7 extra outfits besides what they were wearing and 5 different accesories to go with them and a bed for $135- which is well worth it IMHO!), but I did find this on craigslist so I have been doing some internet shopping!
