How do you treat yourself to something special or something you enjoy when you don't have alot of extra money?

Go out & lay in the hammock & read library books. Take a bath/jacuzzi in the tub. A glass of port in front of the fire.

I guess that would depend on how much time I had and how much I could spend to splurge. Sometimes it is just nice to spend some down time and recharge your batteries. I can accomplish this by going to the library and spending 30 minutes reading some magazines - basically free as it is only about 2 miles away. Pick up a book or two while there and then read them in the backyard on the patio on a nice day is also a huge treat.

Sometimes it is getting a frap while shopping in the grocery store - luckily I still have a few gift cards left over from Christmas - I am trying hard to make them last and only using them when I really need a treat.

Spending time just vegging in front of the tv watching a DVD can also be something I do to just relax - this only works if DS and DH are not home or if I am basically locked in the bedroom LOL.

Scrapbooking and knitting are my hobbies so I love to spend time doing them - doesn't happen too often lately.

bubble bath with some canldes going and a cool drink maybe some music playing and a book to read.

It has taken a long time to get to the point of not having to spend a lot of money to feel good - I used to love to shop just to shop now most times I come out of the stores empty handed. I honestly don't think you have to spend a lot of money to feel like you have been pampered or that you have splurged. I think the main idea is to make yourself feel better - for me it is usually just a little quiet time - part of having a 5 year old - love him dearly but sometimes I just want peace and quiet.

If it is for me time it would be an ice cold coke zero, hot fries, and a good book.

a gallon of ice cream and a good game night with the family is a good one too.

I buy books from Goodwill, and if I totally need some me time, my husband is good about keeping the kids from breaking into the LOCKED bedroom door and the LOCKED bathroom door. I light candles, fill the tub with my favorite scents (or if I am out, shampoo makes good bubbles!), and just read until the water is cold. I've even been known to drain and refill for more time!!

Its not how much you spend its about time. Taking time and spending it with Friends and Family. I am an avid knitter I know where there is a knitting group every day of the week. I am in several local moms groups. Taking DD to the park is enjoyable when I have friends to talk with. As for really treating myself. I will do something to live it up. Last week DH and I had a Date night it was a little spendy but such a treat.
