Keep in mind that the mild fireworks like sparklers and poppers make good Christmas gifts for people who like to have a mini-celebration on New Years Eve. Sometimes the poppers go on clearance at Target after 4th of July.

Sometimes on the 4th you can bargain with the people at the fireworks stands.
