I am pretty new here so I don't know what you have done in the past but I know we are trying to have fun this summer without spending a fortune. DH wanted to go out of town for 2 nights and even though we were getting great deals we figured it would cost us $600 plus for gas, food, lodging and tickets and I just couldn't do it for only 3 days of fun.

We are going to do more local things many of which are free or low cost -even if DH isn't too thrilled and would rather go to the theme park or Vegas. I figure we are going to get more creative and play tourist in our own town. There are tons of things to do that we have never done.

No idea if this is challenge worthy or not.

This could be a challenge.....to see how many local points of interest or things there are for a family to do in your state or near you.

Maybe a stock up your stockpile? With July comes a lot of fresh produce, good sales on just about everything- now would be one of the better times to start stocking up on your piles for the up coming winter (Usually this is when I start using up all the old and start stockpiling the new). Just a thought though (I know I crashed and burned on this past months challenge- I drove every day- not by choice though!).

Don't know if they've done this one but I think it's a good one

I like this idea as well, because I'll most likely start canning green beans by the end of July!! Not to mention getting fresh stuff from area farmers, etc. to put up for winter.
