Does any one know if Lowes or Home Depot marks down sheds at the end of season? We want to buy one but want to get the best deal. We are looking at a $700-800 model. It needs to be sturdy enough to keep rain and such out since we will be storing totes in it

Thanks

Jen

I truly don't think that they do. We were somewhat keeping an eye on them and they maybe went down just a little bit on sale but never went on an end of season sale (I think the price for one is higher now than last year).

I know that maybe a hard one- maybe check your local craigslist to see if anyone ever sells their shed OR you can post a want for a shed for a reasonable price.

they don't generally have an end of the year clearance on sheds(they tend to carry the same ones year after year). they do run them on sale thru out the summer you will save a little but not a great amount.. its just one of those things that there never really is a great sale on.

For about 3 months last year, I worked in the garden center at Lowe's (during the summer, and pregnant to boot). They don't mark them down, AFAIK.

We just had a hailstorm in April (golf ball size), and the insurance co. totalled our shed (it was falling apart anyway, but the storm didn't help it). Dh found a local guy who builds sheds to specification. We are getting a 8x16 shed with a loft for about $1600 (built on site)--we haven't finalized the details yet. We looked at smaller ones at Lowe's and Home Depot that were more expensive. We don't have a garage (just a carport), so for us this is the place to store dh's mower, tools, storage totes of clothes, Christmas stuff, etc. The roof was just replaced, the gutters and fascia fixed, and we are working on getting the shed done now (it's been a nightmare getting contractors and estimates because there was widespread damage in the area).

My advice is to look at somewhere other than the large hardware places.
