Share with us your frugal plans for this week!

Mine are:
1) Bake goodies for the upcoming Fourth of July with what I have on hand
2) Occupy the kids with a craft I have in my stockpile while I bake
3) Bake my oldest Birthday cake
4) Watch the free fireworks on the Fourth
5) Go to 3 different picnics this week (I will provide a bake good- 3 days without cooking!).
6) wash laundry in cold water

I have to work the fourth from 1-8:30 pm.
I plan on doing the library activities at the park on Tuesday and recycle.
Tomorrow I am going to the pregnancy center for some free diapers and a free counseling session with free prayers LOL.
I have to work Thursday night and Saturday night also.
I am not sure about the rest of the week.
I think I am going to try to go to Al ANON on Wednesday night at church.

There is a little switch in my plans- instead of baking my oldest a cake for her birthday- I will be buying her an ice cream cake! That is our usual treat and when DH heard I was going to bake a cake- he got all sad and said that he was really looking forward to the ice cream cake!

I'm getting as much laundry done as possible before Wednesday and possibly Thursday, as the paper predicts rain both days.. and I'm trying to train myself to use the solar dryer again. If I do have to use the electric dryer, I'm training myself to tear the dryer sheets in half...I'm also going to make a trip to either Dollar General or The Family Dollar Store in search of spray bottles for homeade household cleaners-I want to try the trick of diluting liquid fabric softener in a spray bottle, to spritz on a rag for tossing the dryer. Oh, I'm going to make a batch of laundry soap..I've made it before, so I know it doesn't take long at all.
I'm trying to decide when the best time to grocery shop might be this week. I can't go Friday since we'll have company in the afternoon and evening. Dh leaves Sunday for a two week business trip, so Saturday will be hectic indeed. I need to plan menues for the next week or so, and have to wait til Tuesday and Wednesday for that anyway. I think I'll have the older kids sit down with me and the ads and try to map out a plan that includes a couple of kid-planned and prepared meals. Definately want to try that while Dad is gone...a good time to try recipes he'd not enjoy-like anything with noodles
We need to get them on board for this Eat Better-Spend Less lifestyle change we want to initiate.

My kids are going to their grandma's Mon. afternoon through Thurs. because she has invited them to her VBS. I get a little break (although I'll still be babysitting a 2 y/o). But, before they leave, my oldest DS is ready to pick out his free book at Barnes and Noble for their summer reading program, so I think we'll head there today. Friday for the 4th, we have a very fun free festival to go to in the morning, and then its off to my MIL's for her annual 4th party. It'll be pot luck and there will be lots of fireworks, swimming, games, etc...Lots of fun, and very frugal for us!
