I really don't have one. I have a large cabinet I think was designed for small appliances, it has a bottom shelf and a half shelf. I use it to store extra condiments, snack items like popcorn, chips and crackers and baking supplies.

I don't have a pantry, I have an extra deep set of cabinets next to my fridge that I call my pantry b/c that is where I store my food. It makes it really hard to stockpile. No basement. No garage. I keep my deep freeze in a bedroom closet. Weird I know but there is a plug in there.

We just moved into a different house because the kitchen at our old home was horribly tiny and had no cupboard or counter space. We couldn't even fit a table for 6 in the kitchen. Now I have more than enough room.

But, my favorite place to store things when the kitchen storage was at maximum capacity was our master bedroom closet. It was huge--too huge, but had plenty of built-in shelves so I could put things up and out of the kids reach. I put a list of what was up there on the inside of a cabinet door in the kitchen so I wouldn't have to run up there all the time to check to see if what I needed was "in stock" .

I have a some cabinets in my laundry room and out in the garage. They are chock full of canned and dried goods. One day, I'll have the laundry room's pantry cabinet made accessible from my kitchen. What a joy that'll be!

My laundry room is off my kitchen and my pantry is off my laundry room.

It used to be the way to go outside from that area. Then it held a dryer. When we bought the house my husband redid the whole room and moved the dryer next to the washer and now I have shelves all around. We also have the chest freezer in the back. The upright freezer is in my kitchen but I am looking for a place to move it to, takes up to much space.
No basement and no garage.

I have a small pantry in my kitchen and was thinking of putting a cabinet in my gargage. Can you tell me do you worry about the temps during the winter and summer getting to your foods? Do you worry about bugs? I am not sure about putting dry goods in the garage. I was thinking more along the lines of tp, papertowels, canned goods, washing powders, etc.

Thanks for your advice

We just re-did our kitchen and put a HUGE panty in the kitchen. I love it. I'm not sure how we lived without it!

So far, the weather has had no ill effects on the food in the garage cabinets. I buy flour, sugar, and rice in bulk. I put it all in the freezer for a few days before I move it to the cabinets. I read that that is supposed to prevent bugs. So far, it seems to work. Mind you, I live in a coastal climate, so it never gets scorching hot or freezing cold in my garage.

I keep my tp, kleenex, paper towels, etc. in an inside closet for convenience's sake.

A few years ago we were doing a renovation project in our walk-out basement. The construction guys were working there on our anniversary and my husband secretely had them install a nice large pantry as a gift. Best gift ever.
