We bought a family pool pass for $130, and I'm glad. The pools were closed for awhile due to the water restriction during the flooding, but we have gone several times so far already. I'm glad we got the pass so we can go and only stay for an hour or two, and I won't feel bad for shelling out $12-16at a pop for that short amount of time. If I spent that much I would feel like we need to stay longer than an hour to get our money's worth.

We took down our above ground pool last year because we were going to get a bigger one this year. With all the landscaping work we had done - which is still in process - we haven't bothered to get another pool. So, instead we were going to buy a hot tub. I still haven't done that. What is it? July. Looks like it isn't happening this summer.

So I just got a flyer that says our local beauty salon is selling annual hot tub passes for $50. After that each visit is only $10 an hour. That's sounding a lot better than shelling out thousands of dollars for a hot tub at home.

I told DH that next year we're either getting a pool pass (which for our family will be close to $200) or an above-ground pool. Our older kids are getting too big for the little pool we have and it would cost us almost $20 for us to go to the pool any given day. So I think the pool pass was a great idea for your family this summer!
