Sigh! I can't ever remember a time in my life when I didn't feel like eating. . .
Just do what works for you right now and remind yourself that this is merely a season of your life. Things will change.

You like peaches - I went through a 10lb bag of oranges a week - or more. Thank goodness Navels were in season!

The way I figure, if you can find enough "healthy" things to eat - fruits, veggies, non-processed foods, just eat at will. Yes, fruits and veg fresh cost more, but they are good for you and baby (cept maybe some of the high sugar fruits of you have the diabetes).

Cheese was also a big hit with me. I'd eat about two of those big blocks a week, or more. Heck, some days, all I could eat was oranges and cheese - and that's what I ate!

My sister - the Taco Bell one - also ate one of those gigantic jars of black olives a month - like 500 olives. Pleah!

I do admit a fondness for McD's fries though when I was preg. Must be some sort of fast food junkie gene kicks in during pregnancy in my family!

Like stacia said - work your food budget around what you eat. It's more important to eat what you can right now. Sure, try to make good choices, but if you can't eat it, it does no good.

And peaches are in season or close to now right? Wooo!
What is UP with oranges!? The only reason I'm not inhaling them is b/c they're not in season. Hence the peach kick. Mmmm...orange juice is a good alternative. Must.go.to.store.

BTW, I am really sorry to hear about the hypermerensis and appendicitis. What a nightmare!

hyperemesis is bad! I had it with both my girls this time I just feel soo crappy and exhausted all the time. (oldest dd I lost 20 punds in 1 week. its no fun)

Another thing that is going good to eat is melons (watermelon , musk mellon and cantelope I think its the wetness of it)

The bagel is not bad as carbs do help. use a light cream cheese on it and some fruit.

I too ate out a lot when pregnant, but my grocery budget was low for I never cooked and also the electricity bill was lower as I used lesser utensils.

Wow, were you ever hospitalized for dehydration or anything? 20 lbs in 1 week sounds horrific! I am so sorry.

I'm adding melon to my shopping list - yum! I have gone to the store 4 times this week, as opposed to my usual once every 2 weeks. I keep craving random things!

That's so funny that you said that b/c I've noticed that I no longer have to run the dishwasher every day, and my oven hasn't been on in 2 weeks. And when I originally posted this, I thought for sure I was way over in my grocery budget, but I realized that since I wasn't stocking up on meat and staples, I was staying under. Unfortunately my $10/2 wk eating-out budget is out the window.

I can't remember how many times I had to go in for fluids - 5 or more? Usually got 3-5 bags of IV fluids too. My weight went up and down too, until they just put me on Phenergen, and that helped a ton. Made me tired all the time though.

By the time I was done being preggo, I looked like a serious junkie from all the IV's I'd had!
