Let's do a grocery/food theme for this month's challenge. People are spending money on back to school supplies, fees, clothes, etc so let's set up a budget for this month's food bill. Can you only spend $50-75 a week on food items? (This does not count household items, and it's up to you if you count eating out in this amount). Who is on board for the August Challenge?

count me in I need to start keeping track of what i spend on food compared to other things, does eating out count?? Will we have a weekly check in?? I will start with 70 this week and work on my way down. thanks

If we're not including non-food items, I'll try to do $70 a week. My grocery spending has been going crazy lately!

Oh! I'm in! I really need to cut back and grocery shopping. I'll try and stay around $50 because there's only 3 of us...that really should be do-able but right now we're doing about $80 a week.

Gosh, this is so tempting, but it is a big drop from what we've been spending. I'f I only count food items, I think I'll try for $75 a week.

We made a couple of runs today, but bought HBA stuff and a few school supplies. So, I'll deduct those purchases. I think I'll still include those in my siggy totals though.

OK here's my total for this week so far:
75.59 I've already blown it. But I should last the rest of the week. ARGHH!

Don't be too discouraged. You're only .59 over $75. That is an easy amount to recover next week!!
