These are such great ideas! I agree that if my home was more cozy I would want to be here more.I work part time and I am home sat-tues and I can not stand being in the house all day. This def gets me into trouble I walk the malls and spend money then I take longer when I am at target and buy so much more then I really need...My girlfriend just told me about the running errands once a week which sounds like a better idea for me..So since we have had almost no extra money this week it was not as hard.

Good Luck and happy savings

Jen

this is my goal as well. when we don't dread coming home to a mess or having to fix something, you want to be there.

i walk the kids to and from school now,,getting up a little earlier each day is worth what it saves in gas. i try to limit gocery shopping to 2 times a month and then i try to go after dh gets home from work so i can use the car and not the truck. weekends we have resorted to riding bikes to the park or walking instead of driving. i cut back the cell phone minutes as we were not using all of them anyhow(dh and i email back anf forth while he is at work now) changed my home phone to vonage(aot cheaperrrrrr and saves on my cell phone bill too) we can not get rid of the internet he needs that for his job and for college(but i figure whati print out in coupons each month it almost pays for my 50 dollar bill) i cut my dryer sheets in 1/3's make my own laundry soap and dishwasher soap. i have cut back smoking in over 1/2 and swiched to a much cheaper brand..still working on quitting totally.!! if it is not too hot or cold and rainy dh rides his bike to work and back on days he can. we cloth diapers now with this baby also,,saves me a tonnnnnn of $$$$$$$. but no matter how hard i try to cut things out we still struggle(next week i am going to the drs for a stop smoking pill that will help save about 20 bucks a month) however unfortunately military pay is about squat and we still have to buy our water in order to drink here as the base water is no good..so some bills i can't get rid of,,grrrr
i jut try to deal and not nag dh but sometimes i wish he would get out the military he took a huge cut in pay to do this and he loves it but it hurts the family at the same time

If I got rid of the cable dh would shoot me.. lol I put dh on a budget while he is at work. Unfortunately he has to buy almost all his meals on the go-- he is a paramedic who stays BUSY.. cooking or even having the chance to re-heat something is nearly impossible. He could do better but he has improved a lot. I tried explaining the concept of sandwiches (no reheating required) can grab and eat on the way to a call, but he's just not going for that. I noticed that if I buy an extra case of water/soda if on sale and leave it in the car he will drink it at work (I tricked him) so that helps bc Wawa seriously kills us! I took him to work one day and put meal rep. bars in his locker. He ate them-- I think it's the concept of actually getting the stuff from the kitchen and taking it with him..
