What do you make homemade that saves you money?

Do you make your own cleaners, marinades, treats for the family, etc?

I've been making treats homemade for the past few months. I stopped buying them in January during the spending freeze. I don't know how much money it's saved me, but I calculated that my homemade pudding is less than the GV brand.

I make my own laundry soap, snackes, taco seasoning, breading (bread crumbs). I am making sun dried tomatoes this week. Going to try and dry some other vegs too.

As to the $ it save I don't know.

I make my own homemade cleaners (except once in awhile I will buy a bottle of pine sol but only at the dollar store!!) ...I have begun to make our own little convienance treats now that school is starting....I make my own bread crumbs...pancake mix....syrup....french fries....not sure how much $$ I save BUT I know all the ingrediants going into stuff and don't have to worry about chemicals or junk and if I run out in the middle of the night...I KNOW what to do without leaving the house!!!!!

Pretty much anything that's food-connected. And I mean anything! I do have three exceptions: We usually buy bread, and I keep premade pie crusts and pizza crusts on hand. It's just so easy to throw together a quick meal if I have those, and on some days if I didn't and had the extra step of making the dough, rolling it out, etc., we would probably end up eating something more expensive (like take-out).
