What is one thing you have learned about yourself while on this adventure we call frugality???

I have learned that I can do almost anything for a set amount of time if I have a goal and an endpoint.

Ex: We ran out of food budget for the month with a week left to go. Do I want to eat what is in the house, no, but I do and I make delicious meals with it. I know it helps our wallets and I see that next Monday I can have something that I want again. (Granted have to watch the want a bit more so I do not run out of food budget next month

and there are so many more things

One thing I have learned is that I can make do with the things that I have. If we ran low on grocery money for example, I have learned how to make many things with basic items like homemade biscuits, pancakes, noodles, etc...It is definately more time consuming, but I can do it if I have no other choice!

I have learned that I can find alot of items that I want or need at Goodwill for a fraction of what it would cost new. I have gotten to the point where I don't want to pay more than $5 for an article of clothing!

I have learned to really stick to my grocery list and meal plan! So many times I would add "extras" in to my cart. It really nickel and dimed our budget!

I learned that I am really not as high maintenance as I thought I was back in the day. I can TOTALLY and EASILY get by without all of that other crap I think I like me this way, better, too!

I completely agree with being less high maintenance--I can not even imagine if my self today had a talk with myself from even 10 years ago about how much I spent on personal care items

I have learned that giving to others is more important to me than keeping up with friends and family. Frugality lets our family give more.
