Anyone else fill up the cars with gas before the hurricane hits the Gulf coast early next week? I had half a tank left, but thought might as well fill up, because if it does take out oil rigs you know they will jack up the prices.

We actually needed to fill both cars this week anyway and it turned out to be a good thing since with the holiday and the storm gas prices are already rising around here. I was very happy we needed it when we did!

I was able to get it here for $3.30 2 days ago and then last night it jumped up to $3.45. I am curious what it will be tomorrow!

It went from $3.45 to $3.69 in one day at the same gas station! I start to wonder what the gas station owners are really paying.

Our gas prices actually went down 6 cents- which is odd for a Holiday weekend. I would love to fill up the tank now BUT we put intake cleaner last weekend and we want to run the car to almost empty (we as in DH wants it that way!).

Everybody here (on the Gulf Coast) is filling up every available gas tank, gas can, etc. they can right now. It is crazy!

Wish I COULD fill up the tanks...but being in between payweeks & no money avail - I'm carpooling!

But I found this site that will tell you where the gas prices are cheapest in your area. GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada True, not every station is listed, but it gives a good idea. Like in my area, I saw this morning it was anywhere from $3.61 - $3.71! And when I started driving, I could fill the whole tank on my '74 Beetle for $8 & it would last me an entire week, if not more!

The prices will probably go up because of panic buying rather than any problems with the rigs.
