Thanks for all of the great ideas on what to put in a freezer! My goal now is to STOP going to the grocery store as much as possible! Once I buy my side of beef, and freeze up all the veggies I can from the farmer's market, I do not want to go to the grocery store for as long as I can make it! I buy my milk from a local farmer, I have my own chickens for eggs, I have LOTS of wheat that I make my own bread, muffins, pancakes, etc....I also have quite a bit of homemade jams, applesauce, etc. It is my goal to totally not go to the regular grocery store for anything. Do you think this is possible? Has anyone ever tried this??Thank you so much for everyones great help!!

Good for you!! I wish I could get away with that. My goal is to be a plan meals by season but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Wow- I wish I could do that too but my addiction to a few items would make it impossible for me (Heinz ketchup, olive oil, miracle whip, etc..). I think you can do it, it will be a hard job but if you can do it- that would be awesome! Even to go to the grocery store 1 time a month for a few things under $30 would still be great!

Man, I would LOVE to be able to avoid the grocery store! (My DH may say that I already do! lol) I hate going, in fact thats what I have to do today. I always thinking I'm getting enough to last us a couple weeks....but I always forget something, etc.

Sounds like what you've got.....you can def. do it! You may not get to eat exactly what you WANT but you'd have enough to eat for sure. Thats something I've been struggling with. I say that I have nothing to eat...but I do, it's just things that I don't want to. I need to realize food is for survival and not really for enjoyment. Eat what I have on hand!!

GOOD LUCK!!

If you can pull it off you need to share with the rest of us. I think you should journal or blog your journey and share. That way you will also be able to see where you went wrong (if anywhere at all) and fix it for the next time. Best of luck to you.
