Same Here. I watched my friend's dog for about week last month and she gave me a $10 walmart card and $40 in cash. I actually got something for myself at walmart and took it back to buy something I had been wanting to get my DD. I also spent the $40 on something for my DS. Like everyone else, I get more satisfaction out of buying for my kids and dh than I do for myself.

That was a great idea about the tax return. Maybe I'll take a little next year and buy some non-frumpy clothes. Maybe I'll loose my mommy tummy by then. LOL

I am the same...I can't really spend money on myself. GOSH...when I was 16 years old and working part time...I was able to spend money on me easily. When I got married...I think I changed b/c my earned money became merged as one and we were saving money to buy a home. I guess...I grew wiser each year...never thinking about myself..only our seven and my dh needs.

It is definitely a mom thing. Before Simon I had no problem spending money on myself. Now I always allot myself so much money a month for Simon and for myself. I always end up spending both amounts on him.

I'm guilty of guilt as well. Went to Wally World tonight to get a few things and while there decided to get a couple new house plants (trying to replace ones I killed) anyway DH supported idea as my birthday was last weekend and we haven't gone shopping yet. Right before reaching check out I decided I didn't need them and quietly put them on a shelf. We went through check out and came home. DH helped me put stuff away and asked what I did with my plants. (he was busy entertaining 4 kids while I wrote the check) He was furious with me for putting them back. "Why can't you spend even $3 on yourself" he asked. And he is right. If I had $100 to spend on anything I wanted, I would have no problem buying him or kids some stupid unneeded item, but I can't bring myself to spend $3 on myself, which by the way is why we haven't done my birthday shopping yet.

I buy for myself but it has to be on 75% clearance and I need to have a coupon for at least 15% off of that. I'm addicted to Children's Place and the OshKosh outlet. I always buy things from there for my son when it's really cheap and when I have a coupon. But I buy too much. So to balance things back out, I buy things super cheap for myself -

I am the same! I'm one of those that buys everything for the kids, dh, house, etc but nothing for myself. I have tried, I went to Kohls last week and tried on so many clothes but I didn't like how they looked. I ended up buying stuff for the house and some clothes for the kids! (they always look cute in anything):D

I always have trouble finding things I'm looking for or want when I actually have the money to spend on myself. At the beginning of the summer I needed new shorts really bad, and set aside $20 for them, took me all day to find a pair!
