I would love some gift ideas as well. I need to be really frugal this year because finances for us as so many others out there have really taken a major hit. I have nieces and nephews to buy for and 1 10 year old son, a 13 year old stepson and a 14 year old stepdaughter. If anyone out there has any nice gift ideas I would love for you to share them with me. I am completely clueless as to what to buy this year. Thanks so much.

I do $150 for both kids and try to keep the rest of our family's gifts to $100-$150, total. I'm just about done with the kids, so just need to do DH and some more of the family.

Our budget is about $800 for each other, DD, my mom and dad, my brother and sister, MIL, FIL, StepFIL, SIL, my grandparents, his grandmother, and my uncle.. I don't think it's too too bad and I don't really see how we could do it on less.. I'm making a lot of the gifts too, but about half of the budget is on DD so that may have to go down a little next year when DS is here..

OH MY GOSH you guys are my idol! We save about $1400 each year in our Xmas club account -- not that we necessarily spend all of that but we have it. HOLY CRAP I am going to definitely see what kind of sales I can muster up this year!

Our family sets the following amounts (agreed upon by my sisters):

Nieces & nephews under 18: $20 each (I have 4) = $80
Nieces, nephews, siblings, and siblings' spouses over 18: $10 (I have 5) = $50
My parents- $25 each = $50
My husband- $75
My children- roughly $75 each x 4= $300
Friends and neighbors $10 each x 4 = $40

So, our total is--- $600 -

That seems like SO MUCH to me.... Hmmm. I wonder how I can lower it... LOL

We don't really have one. We set a certain amount for each person (different for the kids & adults) and try to keep it even.

I have 23 people to buy for and my Christmas Club is $1,000. Last year I had $1,200 in my Christmas Club and didn't spend it all so I'm determined to make $1,000 work too.

(That still sounds like a lot of money but that's a lot of people too!)

Right now I am thinking about $750 for 14 people on my list BUT most of those items will be purchase by points, coupons etc whereas my out of pocket direct costs will be no more than $150

We set a gift budget of $450, then I have set a homemade cookie/goodie budget of $50. So $500 total for our Christmas this year.
