Is your family good about just eating reheated leftovers, or do you try and turn them into a new meal? Like turning spaghetti into spaghetti pie, etc.

If I did a roasted chicken or something like that, I would probably make something different like pizzas, a casserole, or subs with it. With spaghetti or casseroles we usually just reheat it as is. My family is used to having leftovers at least once a week so they are used to it.

My husband would much rather eat a chunk of meat, than have it put in a casserole. So we usually just eat things as is.

I almost never turn it into something else. The only exception would be if we have left over chicken, I may make a chicken casserole.

I definitely do this with a few things. Whenever I make my meat sauce for spaghetti, I put aside a portion enough for a lasagna later. And with leftover chicken, I make enchiladas, taco pizza, or tortilla pie.

My FI gets all the leftovers in his lunch for the next day at work... that way, my fridge is never cluttered with "what WAS this's" haha.... and he saves money from eating out. Sometimes ill flip it up though, if we had a pork roast for dinner... ill shread it up, toss it with some bbq and itll be a nice pulled pork sammy for his lunch. If i am making spaghetti and meatballs however, and have extra meatballs and/or sauce... i throw it in the freezer for a quick lunch.

xo

It depends, actually. Last week was chicken week. We started with about 4 pounds of chicken breasts that were served as honey mustard chicken breasts one night. A couple nights later, they were b-bqd chicken sandwiches and the next night they were chicken chili. This week's meatloaf, however, was either meatloaf or meatloaf sandwiches for three meals. It depends on how much we like the original dish and how much of it is left over.

I don't mind leftovers. I can eat lasagna for lunch for 4-5 days straight! I do some reconfiguring, like making chilidogs after chili, making Shepherd's pie with leftover mashed potatoes, and casseroles with turkey and chicken.
