Alright...if you are interested in participating in a ribbon swap sign up here.

When I get everyone who is willing, I will assign a color to each person. Each person will need to send x number of yards and x numbers of different styles/patterns to me and then I will dissperse them out to everyone (I think that will be the best...you will all only need to send out one package and then I will send one variety package to everyone).

What do you think for #of yards and #of different ribbons?

I guess it depends on how many people participate...if we had ten people and we each bought enough to give 10 people 1 yard of x number of ribbons would get quite costly. Let me know what you all think.

I will plan on getting a final count by Friday.

I would so love to do this. I have done swaps in the past where you each got a color or type of ribbon and you bought as many yards as there were people. for example if there are 5 people then you buy 5 yards of blue, keep one for yourself and send the rest to the host. If you do it that way you will get 5 yards of fabric one from each person. I hope this makes since to you. Also in the past I have done these were you sent a couple of stamps in with the ribbon to help with postage would you like us to do that?

I'm in. I'm excited about this. I had signed up for the scrap swap awhile back but never got anything.

I have found that in other ribbon swaps if you keep the number down to say 10 you can send it out in a regular standard mail envelope, just make sure that you use some tape to keep it closed. Usually 3 stamps is enough to send them out. HTH

So, everyone sends three stamps w/their ribbon?

Sounds good to me.

Okay, are we talking solids, prints, grosgrain, rickrack, fiber type ribbons...WHAT?!?!?!? And are we purchasing ribbon, or are we trying to use what we have in our desk already? (As in, give you a list of what we have, and you decide then on what for us to send out, or once we get the assignment, we go buy it??) I love, love, love ribbon and fibers, especially for cards..but I am learning to use it in scrapbooking, too!

I want in. I already have a TON of ribbon, but you just can't have too much!! I think if we have enough people participating, we can just each buy one yard of ribbon per participant, keep one yard for ourselves and send the rest to mommyfink along with either stamps or a little money for shipping like we do in the card swap. I also think it's great to assign each person a color...and then see what that person comes up with. Maybe she'll send stitched ribbon, polka dotted ribbon, solid ribbon, satin ribbon, grosgrain ribbon...etc. It'll be fun to see what kind of variety we get.
