How do I as a woman, teach my DS how to pull the unit thru the unders fly?

What is a reasonable age to learn this skill? How hard is it to learn? I want DS to be able to do this at preschool so he doesn't get teased for dropping his unders to go as he does at home.

Thanks for the help, April

I did not know any one ever actually did that. I guess I never taught my boys. They just kinda pull the front of the unders down a bit and go. They learned that from daddy. That's what he has always done.

Well, my son was in kindergarten before he learned how to do this. He got motivated when the other kids would laugh at him in the restroom!! I had never thought about it until he came home one day telling me the kids were laughing at him. So I told him to pull down just the front, and no one will see his bottom! It was hard for him to learn for some reason, maybe habit of pulling them all the way down? But he did finally get it. and now I'm teaching the 5 yr old before he goes to schoool.

Both my sons pull their undies down to go. I think the real question should be....Why don't men have to have a private stall to go pee just like we do. It's shouldn't have to be anyone's business how they pee for goodness sakes. I hate it that kids will get picked on for how they decide to pee. grrrrr

You have probably read from my posts that my son still pulls his down, which caused an issue from an older boy. I would just let it go for now until he develops better motor skills. That way, they can keep their pants dry, too; free from accidents. My son uses the stall now to go, but peer pressure itself is making him braver. Sometimes, especially with a SN child, letting them do it at their own pace brings the success needed.

I showed my DS(5) how to use the fly and he does use it sometimes, I think it's easier for him to drop his drawers, he takes his pants totally off to go #2(so far he's only ever done that at home or my parents house, that I know of)

Funny story, shortly after I showed him how to use the fly I was standing in the kitchen and he came walking in toward the bathroom with his 'weenie' sticking out of the fly, I asked him what he was doing and he said he had to go potty & was getting ready, it was too funny. Kids, they crack me up!!!

I have a 6 year old and a 12 year old who are both boys..and both just pull the underwear down a bit and pee over it. Make sense? And, this thread, while totally serious and totally understandable, got a smile out of me. Men don't have a CLUE what we discuss, do they?!!?
