My daughter can count much higher than she can recognize numbers. She can recognize up to five, but knows letters from numbers. I guess maybe I need to work on this more.

Lucas (3yrs) can count & recognize up to 20. Beyond that, he reads the digits, like 25 is 2-5, though we're working on the twenties right now & he's starting to get it I've purposely tried to get him to ID the numbers (and letters) out of order; otherwise it's just memorizing a sequence & not necessarily learning to ID them on their own.
