We spent the morning at the pediatrician's office after my 3 year old decided to stick a tiny little lego piece up his nose this morning. What was he thinking?! He is certainly old enough to know better and I have never seen him put anything up his nose before!!! He was horrified as soon as he did it and it really freaked him out that I couldn't get it out. We had to wait in the germ infested dr. office for 45 minutes until they could see him and then it only took her about 30 seconds to pull it out with the long tweezers. Lord have mercy, this child is going to make me crazy. He saw it in the tweezers and burst into a huge grin and told her "Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Oh, and I just love your reindeer shirt."

So now I will pray that we don't catch something from being in there with all of those sick children all morning. I had to take the 8 year old with me too because dh is working today and I spent the whole time trying to keep them from touching anything!

I had to take DS (also 3) to ER Halloween night after he stuck a gobstopper up his nose. He was basically flying around the room like a monkey after mainlining sugar! Of course, by the time the dr saw him it had melted. Since then he's tried to stick cheetos and crayons up his nose. You'd think they'd learn the first time! I'm glad your son handled it so well! Silly that we have to remind them not to stick things up their nose (or in their ears).

Oh no Maggie -- how scary, but it was not a big deal to remove it.

My ds who will be 8 next month put a rock in his ear about 2 years ago and we had to go have it removed in the hospital because of the location & his age.

Hope no one gets sick!

I'm sorry that happened and I'm glad your ds's OK. This is definitely something your family will talk about for years to come ("Say, do you remember that Christmas Eve when you got that Lego stuck up your nose?").

This happened to one of my preschool kiddos this about a month ago. She had had a runny nose and cough for weeks and after many meds later they took her to the ENT and he took a chunk of foam ball from her nose. It was not visible he went in on a hunch and out it came. She too is three!

I am glad you saw him do it and that you were able to get him to the Dr. and fixed good as new.

My Ds12 put the spring from a pen up his nose when he was 3 or 4.

my ds did that when he was about 2. he stuck a tiny piece of meat up his nose and we didn't notice it until we could smell it! it was disgusting. he never complained that it hurt or anything, we took him to the doc and the meat had started to rot, that's how we found out about it. we had 2 other incidents, he stuck a pea in his ear and a rock up his nose.... glad those days are over!
