Unfortunately, I don't think there's a magic, "get out of jail free" card on this one. You just have to wait for them to move past it. One thing though, my husband and I did not (and still don't) permit our son to say "No" to us in a disrespectful way. When he shouts and points his finger and says "NO!!" to one of us, we discipline him. That is beyond the regular saying "No" and into being disrespectful which is not allowed. Now he's into the asking odd questions stage....his latest? "Mommy, can I be a racecar when I grow up?" lol, he loves his new Cars movie!

My dd says no to everything these days, she is two and a half. Sometimes when she is on a "no" roll, we will throw in a question like "do you want some candy?" just to hear her say no! Hee..hee..hee...:D
