We are barefoot in the house (it's a rule) but outside, shoes are a must.

both of my kids like to be barefoot in the summer....DS would go naked all summer if he could, forget the shoes and the clothes

Yes, all my kids and I love being barefoot, inside and out. I've always encouraged it from when they first walked. It's good for toddlers be barefoot when they're learning to walk because they can balance better.
