It's hard to let them go. I held my oldest back a year because he wasn't mature enough to go, so I felt lucky to have that extra year with him. My youngest is such a responsible, smart little guy, there is no way I could have kept him back. It was hard being home without them. The thing that makes it okay is when they come running in the house all proud of themselves over something wonderful that they learned or did at school. They grow as little people in school, they learn more than just ABCs. Some of the things they have to go through are heartbreaking, like little meanies who hurt thier feelings, but with that comes such empowerment when they learn how to deal with it and get the upper hand (believe me, you will cheer when this happens). I think we grow somehow too, because what does not kill us makes us stronger and fear not, they are never to big to snuggle when they come home to you. It's terribly hard, but it will be okay (you will too).
Big hugs
