Yep, she is getting her permanent teeth. She has one that is growing in behind her other baby teeth as well. The dentist tells me that her mouth is not big enough for all of her teeth. But dh and I both had braces so we were not surprised one bit!!

I am so glad you asked this question! My 4 year old (she'll be 5 in June) just realized one of her teeth is loose a couple of days ago, and I was paranoid that it was too soon. Now I'm not as worried. She got her first tooth at 4 months, so it makes sense that she would start to lose them earlier.

There are so many kids losing their teeth in DD's kindergarten class she is feeling left out. If your child's dentist isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either.

There is no set timeline for when kids should start losing their teeth. I started losing mine I think when I was 4 or 5. My dd who is 5 1/2 has already lost one & has another one that is really loose!! I would only worry about it if there are no permanent teeth coming in.
