My dd turned 5 in September and she has already lost 3 teeth. Alot of people tell me that she is way too young to be losing teeth and so, I was just wondering how old your kids were when they lost teeth or if any of your preschoolers have lost teeth yet??

I know it is nothing that I can change but was just wondering!!!

My 5 yr old has lost 3 teeth so far, but none came out before 5. However I dont think its anything to worry about. If you are concerned I would speak to her dentist.

My six year old has already lost eight teeth. He actually lost 7 and knocked one out, but that is still a lot. Most of his friends in his class have only lost a couple.

My dd is 5 and hasn't lost any yet, but is dying to!
She already got this tooth fairy pillow from someone to put
her teeth in.

My DS turned 5 in December and hasn't lost any teeth yet and he's been waiting and talking about the tooth fairy. He was a late bloomer when his first tooth came in. His first tooth came in two weeks before he turned 1, so I wouldn't be surprised if his teeth don't starting falling till after 6.

Thanks so much guys!! I am glad to know that other kids this age lose teeth that early. She got her first tooth at 4 months so maybe that has something to do with it. My boys were both about 10 months old before they got their first ones so we'll see when they lose their first ones.

This annoys me.. how/why do people say that's too early to lose teeth? According to whom?!? Kwim? lol!!! I'd ignore them.. lol!

My ds started losing his teeth at 5 yrs old too.. he was teething at 2-3 mos. and had his first teeth at 3 1/2 mos... not much you can do about it! lol!

It is very common for girls to loose their teeth earlier than boys. Also, a lot of times when they got their baby teeth early, they will get their big teeth early, too! And, are her permanents coming in yet? If so, it is DEFINITELY time for the baby ones to go. I have a 6 1/2 year old ds who has a permanent ALL THE WAY IN BEHIND the baby tooth! He has had some severe trauma at the dentist, so I am constantly telling him to wiggle that tooth in order to prevent the dentist from having to take it out!! My other son was the same way. But, both of my girls who are old enough to loose teeth lost theirs early, too!
