dd#1- 3, within one week of going to preschool. I did work with her all summer but she appeard to be clueless. then bam so got it.
dd#2- 3, don't remember exactly when but I do remembr that she learned both her last name that same year.
dd#3- she is 3 1/2, going on stubborn as all get out, she is learning to recognize her letters in her name. knows her first for sure. she can kind of make an M. teacher thinks once she has made her mind up to do something she goes full blown but until then forget it. Thank God I didn't imagine that, she's been like that from day 1!

yeah we thought about this too -- Elijah Theodore Cukryznski -- terrible, aren't we? He'll be homeschooled, so his teacher will know who he is, even if he can't spell his name right in the beginning.

DD learned to write her name about 5 months ago when she ws 4. Her name is Christina so it was a challenge since it is a long name. She is now working on her last name and can remember the first 3 of 8 letters.

Sounds like he's right on track! My DD was about 3.5 and DS later, he was just past 4.
