Have you ever noticed that most store toilets are really high up? My 4 yr old is afraid of how loud most of them are, and to add to it a lot of the time she has a hard time getting up on to the toilet too. Being that she doesn't want help getting up, I'm always afraid that she's either going to fall in when she's getting up there or fall off during that process too. You would think that they could at least have one smaller potty for little children like the ones they have in elementary schools. They all have changing tables, what's the difference?

Add to that the toilets that are now automatic flush. My 4 yo dd is petrified that the thing is going to suck her down should it flush while she is on it.

Apparently my daughter is an odd ball. She strives to use the public restroom, as if she wants to see what is in there. Strange.

Yes they are quite loud! My 6 year old still doesn't like it. When she has to use them and when it is time to flush she backs up to the door and covers her ears.

My DD hates the flushing as well. She cant get on most herself and is afraid of falling in so i have to attempt to hold her over the toilet while she goes. if i have my 19 month old with me too, this isnt easy. once i have the three kids i am never leaving the house!!

My 3 yr old is the same way! I found a Dora potty seat that I can carry with me when I take her places. It is just like the toilet seat except it is easier for them to sit on. I got it at Walmart for $10 ---the best investment! They have elmo, Dora, spongebob ones!

yes....store toilets are definately NOT kid friendly...I take my dd into the handicapped...easier for her cause most are lower.

The LOUD flush was also a problem...couple that with auto flush and watching my daughter dive from the seat and quickly cover her ears while pants were down was quite a sight to behold the 1st few times
