My oldest was about 2 1/2 going on 3 when he wanted to do everything himself. I totally encouraged it. Even if he didn't match, I didn't care! It was one less thing I had to do. My youngest is two and is very "I do it mommy" but doesn't have the know how just yet. He wants so badly to do things himself but quickly get frustrated. I think it's because he wants to be like his big brother. It's so cute!
