Has anyone ever dealt with growing pains in their child? My 3 year old has recently started saying that her legs are sore. I am thinking that it is just growing pains but I cannot be too sure. She has not done any extensive walking she goes in the double stroller with her sister and she has done the normal running around outside and at the park.
I guess I am a bit paranoid now because we just found out that my cousins, cousin (did that make sense?) who is 7 has bone cancer and they found out because she was having pains in her. So now every little pain they get I worry.
Any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated. I do not remember my 6 year old going through this??

TIA

Sonja

Both of my kids had these. And always in their legs. They usually went away after a couple of days. And it happened frequently, but I can't remember what age they were....but most likely elementary school. It never hurts to ask the doctor though. I was always paranoid that my son would have a "problem" because on top of the growing pains, he is a stick!! So I was always worried. Good luck!! Sounds like everything is normal though!!

Sonja my dd who is 5 1/2 gets leg pains a lot. She is getting really tall & has long legs. Sometimes she gets them after she has done a lot of running or jumping, and sometimes she gets them when she hasn't done this. There have been a few time that she has gotten up in the middle of the night because her legs hurt. I remember getting these when I was growing up. Our oldest neice has them too. I bet that they are just growing pains. Maybe after she has been active a lot one day give her some tylenol before bed.

Thanks for the advice. I did tell her that we will stop at the store and get some medicine because if it is bothering her I thought Ibuprofen would help. My girls also are tall and the likely hood of them being tall and growing faster is significant (I think) I mean my MIL is 6'0" !!!
She was really complaining about it last night and it made me worry. If it continues I may call the doctor but I will wait it out since we do not have insurance right now. Thanks!!

My oldest DD got these all the time too ~ but like bucsnpats I remember them more in kindergarten. Like the others I would give her tylenol or ibuprofen when it got really bad.

My four year old Penny is complaining about leg pains more and more frequently. She always wants me to rub them. I am starting to get a bit worried, so I made her an appointment with the dr. on thursday. I will tell you what the dr. says. We can get two for one!!!
