I have a 2yr. ds and 4 yr. dd. Dd is in dance 1x a wk. and story hr. 1x a wk. Ds has no activties. I feel guilty about this, but an opportunity has come up. Through WIC, I found out about a learning connection 1x a wk. in a nearby town (10 min. away). Its 1.5 hrs. and I can bring both kids. You do an activitiy w/ the kids for the first half and then visit w/ other parents the 2nd half. Kids, I'm assuming are supervised by teachers. Its at a school. Does anybody have their 2 yr. olds in activities outside the home or am I just being overzealous? The guilt is because they're not in daycare, which is great, but at the same time, they're not socializing w/ kids as much. Any thoughts? FYI, ds is going to preschool next yr., if potty trained.

I would not feel guilty about it all he is just 2! Can you take him to the library for story time or maybe even just sit with him at the computer at the library? I admit I have a 3 yr old ds and the only activity is the kids room at the Y or when we do open swim! However I sit other kids so he does have playtime w/others his own age.

I will be signing him up for Swim lessons this summer.

For story hr., they have to be 3 and potty trained. I know, I should be happy to have one more yr. before he goes to school and that's only 2 days a wk. I'm sort of, well I am, a homebody. If I don't see another adult or interact w/ people my age for a day or 2, I don't go bonkers. I guess I'm not real outgoing. Not a good example to set for the kiddies, but that's the way I've always been. I just don't want them to be like me (socially) when they grow up. Gotta skip the learning connection tonight cause dd has the flu, but will go next wk. and see how it goes.

My preschooler does not have many activities. He goes to preschool 2 mornings a week and story time one morning a week. I think next season he will do wrestling with the older boys.
