My 5 yr old little one will have her first ice skating show in May She is so cute on the ice and is at a Basic 2 level. She just had her first practice this evening and did pretty well for being the youngest kid at the level in the show...the other girls looked to be 8 and 10.

She was excited because she got to watch the much older figure skaters practice in their dresses and do all of those fancy moves you see on tv I think I might have a future "Icearina" on my hands...that is what she calls a figure skater because she thinks it looks like they are doing ballet on the ice and they wear dresses

What's great is that she loves the lessons and they are really inexpensive. We pay $65 for 7 ice skating lessons! She is getting 6 special lessons and the performance in the ice show for $20! I love how inexpensive so many of the activities are in my community. Part of the reason the lessons are so inexpensive is that the ice arena is owned and operated by the Optimist Club.
