Help!!! My 4 year old dd peed her pants last night at her lacrosse practice. I can't believe that it happened. She's been potty trained since she was two and hasn't even had an accident in her bed in almost a year! She was in the middle of practice and came running off the field with wet pants. I made sure she had peed before we left the house for practice (practice had been in session for 45 minutes) ... any suggestions on how to handle this situation? I just told her it was okay and accidents happen and not to worry about it. But she's embarrassed and wanted to stay at practice but it has been a long time since I carried an entire change of clothes with me .... help!
Thanks.

I think that the extra physical activity could have stimulated her bladder. Also, when they are having a ton of fun or don't want to miss anything, they try to hold it too long. Don't worry about it. I think you handled it well, but I would keep extra clothes just in case. Also remind her that she won't miss anything important if she has to go to the restroom. Poor kid....I know she was embarassed.

You did just fine, treat it as if it is no big deal! Heck I had to take some clothes to school yesterday for my 7 yr old because he was so absorbed in gym class that he forgot to go in time!

I agree....you did great. Don't make it out as a big deal. She's only four....most four year olds have accidents once in awhile. She was just too preoccupied to notice the sign that she had to go. Don't bring it up again unless she does.
