I have a book called "The Preschooler's Busy Book" written by Trish Kuffner. I am planning on posting an activity from this book daily.

I have done this two days in a row with my son and he loves it.
The first day i took a piece of paper and wrote a big A on the top. Then all over the paper i wrote an assortment of letters. Then i told him to circle all the A's and to cross off all the rest. He did great.

Yesterday i got out my bank of extra change and dumped them in the kitchen sink. Added some bath color pills and bubbles. He used a paint brush and cleaned all the coins. He did that for over 45 minutes!!!!!! He loved it.

Sooooooooooo i thought maybe some of you could use some suggestions on fun ideas to keep preschoolers busy.

For today i chose "Thumbprint Mice"........

You will need a stamp pad (I'm going to use paint)
Paper
Crayon or markers

Have your child press her/his thumb on a stamp (or in paint) and press it on the paper.
Show your child how to draw a mouse tail and ears on the thumb print to complete each mouse. Do it several times to make a mouse family. Use your thumb too and compare the different sizes each make.

Sounds fun!! Let me know if you do it.

Cool, thanks Jodie! I think Luke would love washing the money!! But he would want to keep it after it was clean!

Wyatt had fun doing the mice. I painted his thumb and he made them all over the paper. They have some pretty long tails though...

LOVE this idea!!! I have several books myself and I just can't seem to get myself together to read them, pick out an idea and then implement it.

We are going to do the mice after dinner tonight!

Thanks Jodie!! I have the Toddler Busy Book and it is really great too! Bryce would love scrubbing money! I think we'll do that tomorrow!! I like to look at all my old "teacher books" now that he is old enough to do some of the activities. It gets us out of our rut! Today we did tearing and glueing to make a "rainbow" after we read some color books. I'll be checking your posts! Thanks!

I am so excited to see other ideas you have. With a preschooler, toddler, and infant I have no time to plan what to do. Thanks for these 3 ideas today.
