My 4 yr old's favorite thing right now is to run off!!! I am so frustrated with him!!!! We went to soccer today and I took the leash thing. He did pretty well for the younger boys game. Then we went to my older son's game. The other two were cold and it was drizzeling, so I let them go to the van. Luke begged to go and promised he would be good. Me and my wishful thinking let him go with his 7 & 8 yr old brothers So I look up and here comes the 8 yr old saying Luke won't listen then I look at the van and he is standing on top of it!!!!! So I haul him back over by me and make him sit on my lap. He screamed and fought with me for half an hour. It is not like I did not prepare. I talked to him about my expectations all week. I brought juice and huggy bears and fruit snacks. I see all these other little kids just sit there so nicely!! Why does mine always do this!! I am getting so I just hate to take him anywhere at all!!!!

I'm sorry that you had to go through that. It is embarassing when your child won't behave. I know.

Personally, I would've hauled my child's toosh back to the van for a meeting of my hand on that rump of his. He also would've sat there until he was ready to behave. I have had to take each of my children to the van once. Once. They never want to go back. All I have to say now is, "Do we need to go to the van?" Stops them dead in their tracks.
