So dd will start preschool in the fall. My neighbor around the corner does preschool at her house. I guess I am kinda being lazy not shopping around, but I am having a baby at the end of the year and it will be more convienent to have it so close.

So what do you pay, how many days a week and how many hours a day?

We will pay $65 a month, for 3 days a week, 2 1/2 hours a day.
Is that average price for preschool?

How old is DD?

We have a free preschool through out school system. Do you have anything like that there? Cameron was just screened on Friday, and he did a great job. They will let me know in June when he will be going, how many days ect. I know he will go 2 days for 2.5 hours, but they will tell me who his teacher is, and which days he'll go. (I'm secretely hoping for the same teacher my girls had, I just adored her!)

It really varies in our area, quite a bit. Both of my kids attended preschool when they were 3 1/2 (3 mornings per week) and then when they were 4 1/2 (4 mornings per week) and IIRC it was about $2K per school year. It was a cooperative preschool (the same one I attended as a child actually!). The Montesorri programs in our area are VERY popular and can cost as much as $7K per year. It just depends what you want. I never considered a private home preschool for my kids.

It just depends on the part of the country. I know somebody listed some prices in California recently, that were out of this world to me! I think they were over $300 a month for 3 days a week.

In Florida, Pre-K for 4 year olds is free. That is what my son was in this year. Next year I will be sending dd (3) to the same school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12 and we will be paying $115 a month. That is VERY reasonable here. (My oldest had the same days for four hours a day at $140 a month 3 years ago before they started the pre-k program.)

I pay $105 a month per child for 2 days a week 9-2pm..and next year will pay $110 a month per child for three half days instead. I am also opting to pay an extra $20 a month to have them stay 3 extra hours one day a week, giving me a full day to get errands run, etc. The little guy I keep will be going to the moms day out there, too!

I forgot to add that my two youngest are going to a Montesorri school in town (this year for free)! I have really loved that program, too, and would recommend it!

That is a great price imo. In our area the cost of preschool is outragous. For three mornings a week it ranges about $350.

I am sending ds to a two morning a week program and it will cost me $185/month.

Wow, no one else has a free program??? I never realized how luckey we are! Cameron will attend 2 years, until he starts going to Kindy. This year he will only go 2 days a week, but next year when he is 4, he'll go 4 days a week, same hours.
