Older dd has been potty trained for over a year now. Little dd just turned 2 in March and it's time to start with her. She just went pee in the potty after waking up from nap dry. I promised her a treat for using the potty. I gave her a piece of candy.
So the problem is that older dd asked for a treat too. So how do I reward little dd for using the potty when big sister asks for something too. Older dd got treat and stuff when she was learning to use the potty. I want it to be special (if that's the right word) for little dd. I don't want her to think "oh I go pee and get a treat and big sister doesn't have to do anything to get hers".
So do I not give older dd a treat or do I slip it to her when little dd isn't looking?
It kinda sounds silly, but maybe someone that has potty trained a 2nd child has gone through the same thinig.

I would try to explain it as best as you can to older dd. Honestly though, I don't think your younger one will even notice that her sister gets a treat for 'doing nothing'. That never happened with my girls anyhow. If you really think its a problem, maybe you can 'sneak' the treat to the younger one without your older one noticing?? OR you might have to do away with treats altogether.

I just slipped older brother a treat when little brother wasn't looking. Sometimes he would get one sometimes he wouldn't. It just depended if he was in ear shot when the treats were being passed out.

My oldest dd liked to hand out treats to everyone after she went potty! Everyone got to celebrate when she used the potty. Now that my second is potty training, she also likes to share the wealth!

You know that's a great idea. Then older sibling can encourage little ones to go on potty because they will be getting a treat too. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....

I think this is a great idea! The oldest can learn about sharing and your youngest has everyone celebrating her successes with her. Sounds win-win to me. Very good idea!!!
