When my nephew comes over I used to use a cup to rinse his hair and totally didn't think about using the shower head we have. It is one of the ones with the garden hose kind of thing attached to it and you can remove the shower head from the holder and use it anywhere. Works great for dogs and the nephew...don't know if this would help your situation or not....

I just always had my kids 'look at the ceiling' and poured water on their heads to rinse their hair. You could even put some stickers or something up there so she has something to look at...good luck!

My oldest dd had a REALLY hard time with hair washing once she transitioned to the big tub. "Look up at the ceiing" worked better than anything else we tried. I also love the Loreal shampoo for kids. It smells GREAT (blueberry smoothie or watermelon)! Mmmmm.....

When my daughter was little I put a picture of her favorite character on the ceiling. When it was time to rinse her hair I would have her tell me what was in the picture. This normally allowed enough time to rinse the soap out of her hair before she lost interest. I would change the picture out every week or two to keep her interested.

I still use the Sauve for my daughters hair. I put a deep conditioner on her har about once a month.

I got dd one of those inflatable tubs that fit inside a tub - used one for my ds when he was a baby, too. I sit in the tub behind her, lean her back and kiss her as a reward. I first wash her face, then her body w/soap and warm water from the tub. Then I use a pitcher - I have the special one BabyCenter offers, but it doesn't matter which one - this one's features weren't useful, and pour it over her head, then make her sit up and pour it over the back of her head. Lather her up, including under her neck and arms, and lay her back to rinse, then sit her up to rinse the rest in the back. Also, while she is lying down, I have the tap on slow and let her run her hand underneath. No screaming yet - maybe later. When ds got old enough, we first told him when to close his eyes and hold his breath, then as he aged, let him put the water on himself. Good luck!

I also use the Suave 2in1 for kids (less expensive than loreal). I let my 3 yr. old pick out the scent cause there's like 5 scents and it makes it fun for them, they know what to expect and they get to make a decision. Also they're tear free.

As soon as my daughter's belly button fell off I started putting her in the tub - usually with me- and poured water over her - I have continued to do this with or with out me in the tub and now that she is 2 she does not mind the water - I have also started to have her tilt her head back so less water gets in her eyes. Maybe you could try getting in with her - so that it is fun and different and she feels secure and safe - let her sit with her back to you with your legs streched out her hands on knees so she is supported -tilt her head and pour water with one hand while keeping the other protectivly at her forehead - once she sees that there is nothing to be afraid of and gets used to the feeling maybe it will be easier for her to go it alone. Or - try a handheld shower head - have her sit in the tub and tilt her head then use a soft controlled spray to rinse.

DS used to hate, hate, hate washing his hair. I picked one of these up from Walmart and things have gotten considerably better!

Good luck, I've been there and it's not fun!

I guess I am a mean mom..

My dd's (3 & 5) both have hair down to their bottoms.. I have used Suave for Kids since they were 3 months old. I use the seperate conditioner too.. Advised by my beautician.

We hand them a washcloth to hold over there eyes and tell um to look at the ceiling. At first we poured water over their heads while sitting in the tub. Now we have them take showers when its time to wash hair. And stand under the spray and look up. We wash hair every other night at my house. No crying and you get your hair combed afterwards. That's just the way it is..

I was just going to post that I must be a mean mom too!
!

I use Baby magic baby bath for Hair and Body till about 4 yrs. old! I just love the stuff.

When it comes time to rinse I hand them a dry Hand towel and I tell them to look up at the ceiling. Occasionally they have tried to mess around and not tilt their head.

Once they Get water and bath wash in their Eyes and Mouth ,
They Will Trust me that they better look up the Next time.
Thats the way I was Bathed and thats the way I Bathe my kids -
Its not really a Choice they have to get their hair washed!
