How much outside time do you spend with your preschoolers? This summer has been soooooooooo hot here in Sac that we really didn't do too much outside time unless we were at the in-laws pool. This past week we were up to 108 in some places.

Today was the first fall feeling day and we were just outside for a good 45 minutes.

How much outside time do you do and what kind of outside toys do you have?

We have a swing set with a slide and a sand n water table. DS and I usually spend about 30 minutes outside in the morning and a few minutes outside before we have to pick up the other kids.

We have all kinds of balls, a few little ride on toys, and a wagon but DS's favorite thing to do is to drag the water hose around and water our flowers.

It has been so hot here in Fl as well and I feel guilty that dd has not been outside more. We had a couple of weeks of smoky outside because of the wildfires and when it is thundering we don't go out either. But I have brought the outside in.... water table inside and lots more play doh and crafty things. Not the same as running around though!

We have a swing set and a barbie playhouse, and a couple of little tike toys like a wheel borrow and stroller. She also has a shovel and rake ( kid size ) that she can dig up all the sand!

It has been so hot here too. It is finally less than 95 today, but it is raining. Go figure. With two toddlers and the pregnancy, I get really hot from chasing them. I feel awful because the AC in our car is out and we don't go anywhere, unless my in-laws can take us. The kids love to see them, but I am starting to feel a little jealous, because they think I am no fun.

When it was nice outside I would take my son to the different play grounds in town.
In our yard we only have a sand/water table, baby pool, tricycle, and cozy coop to play with.
Lately it has been too hot here too! Then when it cools down in the evenings we still can't go out side because of the horrible Mosquitos.

This is me too. I attract mosquitos, have a lot of outdoor allergies, and I dislike temperature extremes. However, my boys love the outdoors so I I try to get them out for about an hour on most days but a lot of times it just doesn't happen (unless you count walking in and out of stores). When we do go outside it's usually to walk to one of the playgrounds in the area. Our yard has a ton of mosquitos so it's not very pleasant being out there during mosquito season (they are out ALL day). We have the Fisher Price Grow to Pro Basketball, one of those little plastic cubes with a slide (hand me down), a tricycle, a plastic baby pool, and various other small outdoor toys...things like that. I do love the outdoors in the spring and fall though when it's cooler. My allergies are usually worse, but I love the weather.

Over the summer we went swimming a lot in the indoor pool at the YMCA, however we always walked there I don't have a set time but they loved to play in the back yard in the morning when it was shady. When it got to warm we chose to stay in. I think it was a balance. Plus a lot of little trips to the local parks.

My boys can't go outside because there is nobody to watch them. DH works all day, and I have to be inside with Tommy. Plus the heat has been unreal! I hope once it starts to cool down I can go out with them for a little while every now and then. I expect with Charleston's weather, that won't be until Christmas!
