How is your preschooler around dogs? Mine does great. He doesn't seem to have a fear of dogs but i know a couple of children his age who are scared of dogs. Was there something that happened that made your child scared of dogs or did it just come naturally for him/her?

Mine is great around ours, but doesn't much like other dogs.

Mine is fine. She's been raised around our dog, my mom's dog, and my brother's two dogs. And we've attempted to teach her to be careful around dogs that she knows - she's pretty good at that too but I think it was more just her personality than it was our teaching.

DS is great around dogs. He's been around little yippy dogs and big brooding dogs, and he likes (and does well with) all of them. Our puppy (who lives next door with my in-laws now) was really good with him; she'd dish back just as much rough-housing as he gave.

All of my kids are animal lovers. They come by it honestly. We actually have to teach them that we can't be going up to strange dogs because they might not like children or people other than their own family. I don't want their comfort level to lead them to be bitten.

Ditto! Our dogs are part of the problem they will let any kid do anything to them.
